Urdhva Dhanurasana- Upward Facing Bow Pose

ResReaderAfter doing so many different poses, this is by far my favorite one. I am blessed to be able to do this posture better than any other one, yet have so much more to accomplish before doing the complete pose, so it keeps it enticing.

I also did this pose when I was a child a lot so it makes me happy to know my body still allows me to do it.

This pose is also a great stretch for your spine, shoulders, chest and legs, while it strengthens your hands, wrists, back, legs and core, so it works on a large portion of your entire body. It also stimulates digestion and functioning.

As a modification, I still place my heels of the ground to keep my back more curved, and sometimes I keep my head on the floor, if my arms are not feeling too strong that day. Eitherway it is a great backbend and I encourage everyone to give it a try sometime.
