Be the change you wish to see in the world

Debbi4NamasteThe first of the Yamas (Ethical Disciplines) is called Ahimsa, which means “non-harming”. It is the most fundamental of all the yamas, as it refers to the relationship with all beings in this world and ourselves, to be harmless and good to others is the best path towards unity and ultimate transcendence of the ego, which is characteristically at war with itself. We must encourage each other to become better human beings, by not participating in war and harm. By this, we should live by the principle of treating others how we would like to be treated and understanding that gentleness and non-violence is the best path for peace, happiness and union. Some of the most legendary people in this World have lived under that principle such as Ghandi and Martin Luther King.By all of us respecting this Yama, we could potentially have a peaceful World.
