Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra means “sleep with awareness.” It’s a meditation technique from Swami Satyananda Saraswati of the Bihar School of Yoga, India. This technique allows us to relax, recharge, rejuvenate and awaken higher consciousness. It’s practiced laying down and after you relax your physical body you can move your awareness to other layers of yourself such as your emotions and your deeper mind. In this state you can work on removing those blocked energy areas that are trapped in your body and mind. There are eight stages of yoga nidra: entry, intention/sankalpa, body scan, breath and energy awareness, sense perception, images/visualization and journey, repeat intention/sankalpa, and return. This practice could be very powerful and it can help heal yourself from many conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, digestive problems, etc. In our forever busy lives, we should make more time to take care of these temples we call our bodies. Yoga Nidra is a great option. Imagine, although it doesn’t replace sleep, 30 minutes of this meditation is equivalent to 3-4 hours of sleep!LIGHTRAIL YOGA TEACHER TRAINING http://www.lightrailyoga.com/
