Daily Sadhana

One of the most challenging things for me in this teacher training is my morning Sadhana. My body and mind are usually at odds when my alarm first goes off. Sometimes it's my body, other times my mind, that wants to get up and practice more than the other--the other is busy making an argument for more sleep. But more often than not, I pull myself out of bed, feed the cat, and roll out my mat by 5:30 AM. After a few minutes of soft music and breathing exercises, the body begins to take over during sun salutations. After less than a month of Sadhana, and less than perfect attendance, I already see improvement.Pattabhi Jois has a famous quote: "Practice and all is coming." I try to continually remind myself of this, and to look back at how far I have come in such a short time. I'm very excited for what my practice will become in the next four months, four years, four lifetimes.
